Families and friends of the 150 victims of gathered for memorial services in , Le Vernet, and at airports in and , marking the 10th anniversary of the crash.
The ceremonies included laying white roses, ringing church bells, and moments of silence at 10:41 a.m., the exact time of the crash, with inviting around 300 mourners to Le Vernet.
The Impact and Investigation
Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was identified as the perpetrator who deliberately crashed the plane into the French Alps, resulting in the deaths of passengers from diverse backgrounds, including students, opera singers, and families.
The crash led to questions about aviation safety and mental health, as Lubitz had previously suffered from depression and other health issues but was deemed fit to fly.
