Enhanced Protections for Teen Users

introduces stricter safety measures for users under 16, requiring parental approval for livestreaming and unblurring nudity in direct messages.

The company extends these safeguards to and Messenger, including setting accounts to private by default and blocking messages from strangers.

Program Expansion and Parental Involvement

Since its launch in September, over 54 million teen accounts have been set up, aiming to give parents more supervision options.

Despite the option for parents to disable some protections, 97% of teens aged 13-15 have kept the default safeguards, indicating widespread acceptance of the measures.
