Allegations and Complaints

The U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) accused of unlawfully restricting workers' use of Slack and social media to advocate for better working conditions, including illegally firing an employee and surveilling employees.

This complaint, issued on Thursday, follows a previous one accusing Apple of requiring illegal confidentiality and noncompete agreements, and imposing broad misconduct and social media policies.

Apple's Response and Legal Proceedings

Apple denied the allegations, stating its commitment to a positive workplace and respecting employees' rights to discuss wages, hours, and working conditions, pledging to contest the claims.

If not settled, an administrative judge will hear the case in February, with the potential for review and appeal by the NLRB and federal courts, respectively. The complaint seeks to rescind Apple's policies and reimburse the fired employee.
